The Vara de Rey promenade was built at the end of the 19th century and is one of the widest promenades in the city, constituting the epicentre of Ibiza. It is a recurring enclave where cultural events, craft fairs, and popular events are held. In the centre of the square is one of the city’s most important monuments, dedicated to General Joaquín Vara de Rey y Rubio.
